Mary, Mother of GOD. My Mother. The Catholic faith’s Mother.

I love Mama Mary the most-est.

As a kid from a Catholic family, I was brought up into thinking that I should love her and venerate her because she is the mother of Jesus, the son GOD. I attended a Catholic All Girls’ school from 1st - 5th Grade then transferred to a Coed Catholic School on my 6th grade until Senior year in High School.

Praying the rosary especially the whole month of October and attending mass for Marian celebrations is anything but normal for me. 

Looking back I’m not even sure if I loved Mama Mary as a kid because I really do or just because it was planted on my mind that I should love her but nonetheless I loved her and defended her from people who doesn’t understand her significance in our faith. 

Fast forward to present, it was only 7 years ago that I learned to genuinely and whole-heartedly love her so everything I do now is really out of love and not because I was brought up to do so or was required to do so. Not only will I defend her now but I wouldn’t mind dying while defending her from those who bash or criticize her.  

Both my parents are now Born Again Christians while me, my sister and brothers remain Catholic. And conversion to another religion is definitely out of the question, I will never convert to another religion because then I wouldn’t be able to love Mama Mary as much and more than I already do.

The reason why Catholics love Mama Mary is simple— if one loves his/her mother, of course one would also love their Lord and Savior’s mother.
