And because tonight’s the night for the Ranma 1/2 Live Action on NTV’s 7:00pm Friday Super Prime timeslot, I’ve decided to post this in honor of this wonderful and joyous occasion for huge Ranma Akane fans like myself.

This song would never get old! Ranma and Akane forever! (^o^)y

Ranma to Akane no BALLAD

Ballad of Ranma and Akane

(Ranma) warau to kawaii yo
dakara   sunao ni nare yo
(Akane) ijippari-na toko wa
sou yo   o-tagai-sama yo ne

(Ranma) You’re cute when you smile!
And so you become docile!
(Akane) Being obstinate, that’s right,
it’s the same for us both!

(Both) oya no kimeta iinazuke
saisho wa sou demo
shirazu-shirazu aijou wa
mebaete-ita ne

(Both) Although our engagement was decided
by our parents at first,
unconsciously, love
has sprouted.

(Ranma) umaku tsutaerarenai ze
(Akane) futari koi ni bukiyou
(Ranma) kyou wa kao ga mirenai ze
(Akane) konna kimochi hajimete

(Ranma) We can’t communicate well!
(Akane) We’re clumsy at love.
(Ranma) Today I can’t look you in the face!
(Akane) Feeling this way for the first time.

(Both) kotoba ni wa mada dasenai kara
(Ranma) sotto te ni fureru yo

(Both) Because we can’t say the words yet,
(Ranma) Quietly, I touch your hand!

(Akane) futari aete yokatta
(Ranma) omae dake o mamoru ze
(Akane) zutto machi-kogarete-ita
(Ranma) ima wa dare mo mienai

(Akane) It’s so good when we get together.
(Ranma) I’ll protect only you!
(Akane) I’ve waited eagerly all along.
(Ranma) Now I can’t see anyone else.

(Both) yasashisa o tashikametai kara
(Akane) sotto te ni fureru wa

(Both) Because we want to confirm gentleness
(Akane) Quietly, I touch your hand.

(Men) umaku tsutaerarenai ze
(Women) futari koi ni bukiyou
(Men) kyou wa kao ga mirenai ze
(Women) konna kimochi hajimete

(Men) We can’t communicate well!
(Women) We’re clumsy at love.
(Men) Today I can’t look you in the face!
(Women) Feeling this way for the first time.

Drama special “Ranma 1/2″ reveals its official poster

As reported previously, popular manga “Ranma 1/2” is being adapted into a special live-action drama starring actress Aragaki Yui. The drama has unveiled two of its official posters, one being the live-action version while the other was drawn by the original mangaka, Takahashi Rumiko.
Fans of the series will be particularly excited to see the poster drawn up by Takahashi, as it’s reportedly been about 15 years since she last drew up a picture of all the “Ranma 1/2″ characters together.
With the unveiling of the poster, it was also revealed the antagonist (a drama original character) will be played by Tayama Ryosei. Meanwhile, the producers decided to go with a more realistic look for the panda incarnation of “Saotome Genma” (the father of main protagonist, Saotome Ranma).
This special drama will hit airwaves on December 9th via NTV.

Paradise Kiss is one of the only two mangas I’ve actually read and watched (anime). The other one was Peach Girl. The latter being my most loved because though it was such an emotional roller coaster ride with Momo, Kairi, Toji and Sae but Miwa Ueda gave me such a wonderful ending. Let me just be clear that I have so much respect for Ai Yazawa but her ending for Paradise Kiss was such a disappointment. The ending for the manga and anime left me feeling empty and thinking of: “whatever happened to Yukari (Caroline/Carrie) and Jōji (George)’s passion?” I have to admit sometimes I’m doubtful of George’s feelings for Yukari but I know it’s there I can feel it, maybe not as much as Yukari’s but it’s definitely there. She is his muse for crying out loud! The guy maybe a cold-hearted bastard sometimes but I know he’s capable of loving. So Yukari ending up with Hiroyuki Tokumori felt like death of romance to me. I also have to say that Kaori Asō reminds me of the character Misao Aki on Peach Girl. Though they were not made to be hateful characters but they seem to infuriate me. But in my opinion Misao is way better than Kaori. Misao may have caused Momo a lot of grief but they were not done intentionally, the feelings are totally one-sided on Kairi’s part. It’s just that with her around Kairi feels like he can never love Momo as much as he loves Misao. Thankfully, Kairi later realizes that he never truly loved her, that he was just in love with the thought of being with her. Kaori however is different she has romantic feelings for George but refuses to have him because she knows George isn’t “the type to make a woman happy” in other words there will be times that he won’t meet her expectations so it will leave her heartbroken. What Kaori does instead is she kept on barging in his life every now and then as George’s “caring” friend and when she’s around Yukari have to adjust and become 2nd best in George’s eyes. Aarrrgh! In my honest opinion, Kaori could have save Yukari from the aggravation by being with George in the first place before those two meet (Yukari and George). If she’s so in love with George why not keep him to herself that way Yukari doesn’t have to go through those painful heartaches. But I know that there won’t be a Paradise Kiss if those things were to happen. LOL. Sorry I got carried away, I just really hate seeing my fave characters heartbroken so I seriously want characters like Kaori and Misao gone and never to be heard of again.

Anyway, few days ago after waiting for such a long time I must add, I was able to D/L the live action film of Paradise Kiss starring Osamu Mukai ♥ Keiko Kitagawa. I just have to say that I love YUI’s songs for the film it goes perfectly with it. I love, love, love it! I love every itty, bitty, tiny detail of the film! Thank you so much Takehiko Shinjo (director) and , Kenji Bando (writer) for giving me the right ending for Paradise Kiss!!! You guys are my hero for saving me from that bitter end of the manga and anime! I’m glad that only 3 years has passed before they found each other again because 10 years is just way freaking long!

That was the goddamn ending I was hoping for Paradise Kiss ^ ^ (photos above). I couldn’t be happier—- my dreams are not shattered anymore!

Now I can go back to believing in sappy romance and happily-ever-afters (^o^)y

P.S., I adore Kento Kaku as Arashi, Shunji Igarashi as Isabella and Yusuke Yamamoto as Hiroyuki (though I’m not really fond of this character in the manga and anime)

NTV has revealed the first teaser picture of actress Aragaki Yui as the protagonist in the upcoming drama special, “Ranma 1/2“, and it was revealed that she actually cut “1/2″ (half) of her long hair for this role.
Aragaki is known for her beautiful long hair and so her transformation took fans by surprise. However, it was Aragaki herself who made this proposal to the staff, as she was determined to completely dedicate herself to this live-action adaptation. She’s been a big fan of “Ranma 1/2″ mangaka, Takahashi Rumiko, since her junior high school days.
Furthermore, it was revealed that she actually cut most of her hair herself, after the beauty artist proposed, “Why don’t you try cutting it to shoulder-length yourself?” The beauty artist then continued to give her the very unfamiliar short hairstyle.
Aragaki commented, “The last time I had such a short hairstyle was in junior high school.” She added, “I didn’t hesitate at all when it was time to cut my hair and just did it. It wasn’t really that much of a moment for me. (laughs) Many people around me were surprised to see me with my hair so short, but some actually remembered the days when I had a similar hairstyle.”
Commenting on the drama special, she said, “There are some real action scenes and I get muscular pain every time I have to practice for them. I’m really serious about this!”
